BYD's first batch of mass-produced new energy vehicles from its Uzbekistan factory officially rolled off the production line
On June 27, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov visited the BYD Uzbekistan factory. They were accompanied by the Chinese Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Yu Jun, BYD Chairman and President Wang Chuanfu, and Executive Vice President Li Ke, among other guests. They jointly witnessed the official launch of the first mass-produced new energy vehicle from the BYD Uzbekistan factory—the Song PLUS DM-i Champion Edition. Additionally, BYD signed a green transportation cooperation initiative with the Uzbek government, aimed at jointly promoting sustainable travel.

Wang Chuanfu stated that the start of mass production at the BYD Uzbekistan factory will accelerate the local transition to green transportation. The signing of the green transportation cooperation initiative demonstrates BYD's strong commitment to environmentally friendly travel. In the future, BYD will continue to use innovative technology to promote the development of new energy vehicles throughout Central Asia.
The BYD Uzbekistan factory is located in the Jizzakh region. The completion of this factory marks an important milestone since BYD and Uzavtosanoat JSC (UzAuto) announced their joint venture to build the factory in December 2022. In the first phase, the factory plans to produce two popular plug-in hybrid models, the Song PLUS DM-i Champion Edition and the Destroyer 05 Champion Edition. The first phase is expected to have an annual production capacity of 50,000 units to meet the sales demand in the Central Asian market.

Earlier this year, President Mirziyoyev and his delegation visited BYD's global headquarters in China and attended the ceremony to witness the production start of the BYD Uzbekistan factory. The transition to mass production not only accelerates the adoption of new energy passenger vehicles in Uzbekistan but also supports the formulation of local regulations and certification policies for new energy vehicles, promoting the development of the industry. In the future, Uzbekistan will use Tashkent as a demonstration city to accelerate the green transformation of the transportation industry.
Since entering the Uzbekistan market in March 2023, BYD has gained strong consumer favor with its high-quality new energy passenger vehicles, innovative technology, and professional localized services, becoming the best-selling new energy vehicle brand in the country. In the future, BYD will continue to provide local customers with superior new energy vehicle experiences, helping Uzbekistan achieve a green and sustainable future.
